It seems appropriate that Ash Wednesday this year fell on the same day as Valentine’s Day, as we have been discussing as a Community the many ways Our Lord manifests His Love to us in a particular way during the season of Lent. This first week of Lent is also marked by two feast days close to the heart of our religious family: the memorials of Sister Lúcia of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (February 13th) and the newly-canonized-siblings, Saints Jacinta and Francisco Marto (February 20th). These shepherd children inspire our charism of prayer and reparation. We were blessed last year to spend a week walking in their footsteps in Fátima, Portugal. May their intercession help you and your families to make room for Jesus and Mary this Lent through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
